There are times when your pet may not need to see a veterinarian. These visits consists of things like nail trims, anal gland expressions and vaccines. Please see the vaccine section for information on vaccines that are provided at our clinic.

Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.  If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.  If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

ORAL CARE

Dogs and cats need dental care, too.  Preventative teeth cleaning, scaling and polishing, along with oral surgeries can be handled by the experienced team at the Washington Dog and Cat HospitalWe now offer digital dental radiographs for every dental procedure.

Dental procedures help keep your pet’s breath fresh. Plaque and tartar build-up can cause a variety of issues such as: gingivitis, kidney failure and systemic infections. During the procedure, your pet will be placed under anesthesia so that the veterinarian can completely assess the teeth and gum line for any broken or cracked teeth and pockets in the gums. These issues can be painful to your pet and can cause them to develop infections and have a hard time eating.

We also offer Anesthesia Free Dentistry once a month by appointment only.  Come in today for a free oral assessment to see if your pet is a candidate! This option is only available to the pets with very little build-up on their teeth.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, you can be sure your pet has access to the best diagnostic tools.

EMERGENCY & URGENT CARE

We have veterinarians and support staff on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent pet care needs.  Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies include snail bait poisoning, hit by car accidents, dog fights, chocolate ingestion, and more.  If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. However, if possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency. When you come in, our receptionists will call a technician or doctor to promptly triage your pet to evaluate it’s condition. We will then present you with an estimate for services so that there are no surprises when it comes time to pay your bill. We realize that emergency treatment can cause a financial strain on the owners. This is why we accept pet insurance, Care Credit and ScratchPay in conjunction with classic payment methods such as credit cards and cash.

Although Washington Dog and Cat Hospital does not have overnight staff, we are happy to provide hospitalization for any patient that does not need around-the-clock observation.
